đź§Â Home / Metrics / Non-Metric Goals
Recently came across this post by Shreyas Doshi talking about non-metrics goals and it’s a hard agree from my side.
In my experience leading 0→1 product design launches at GoTo Group for Gojek, and building at ninyanve. with teams across Silicon Valley and India, “non-metric goals” were often the biggest source of pushback.
Too often stakeholders seek safety behind the metrics-driven approach at the cost of capturing early critical feedback from real users. Prematurely optimizing for metrics before understanding user needs or product fit quickly turns into an exercise in vanity.
This isn’t to say metrics don’t matter but context shapes the narrative. Especially for early-stage products, where sometimes the most important metric is simply to ship.
