🧭  Home / Musings / Public Product Roadmaps

Big fan of product teams that make parts of their roadmaps publicly available. The two that stood out in the past few weeks:

Sonos

After their recent mobile app debacle, Sonos released a Trello board focussed on the app improvements and bug tracking.

Cleft

Detailed public documentation of the shipped features, and what’s next on their roadmap. Cleft goes a step further by highlighting the key enhancements, user stories, why would the user love it, and examples.

Why does it matter?

  1. For Sonos, this transparency is crucial for rebuilding trust with the existing users affected by the recent app issues.
  2. For Cleft, it reflects their advanced product mindset. Building confidence with new users by clearly outlining their development direction and feature prioritization.
